Job description

The Emulation Engineer at Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. will manage, build, and launch verification jobs on hardware emulation platforms. This role involves close collaboration with design and verification teams to enhance pre-silicon validation and ensure high-quality RTL delivery. The engineer will be responsible for setting up and maintaining emulation platforms, compiling RTL designs, and developing automation scripts. This position requires a strong background in microprocessor design and proficiency in various scripting languages.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of relevant work experience, or a Master's degree with 3+ years, or a PhD with 2+ years.
  • 2+ years of experience with high-performance microprocessor design.
  • Proficiency in SystemVerilog for RTL and/or testbench.
  • Strong Git usage skills including branching and merging.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one emulation platform such as Veloce, Palladium, or ZeBu.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, configure, and maintain emulation platforms for design bring-up and regression runs.
  • Compile and partition RTL designs for emulation while resolving synthesis and mapping issues.
  • Develop and maintain job scripts, infrastructure, and automation for launching and monitoring emulation runs.
  • Collaborate with DV engineers to port testbenches and verification environments to the emulation platform.
  • Debug emulation targets using the Angel debug monitor and manage job scheduling across shared emulation hardware.
