Job description

This role is for a software engineer in the Distributed Training team for AWS Neuron, focusing on optimizing distributed training performance on Trainium. The team collaborates with chip architects, compiler engineers, and runtime engineers to enhance training efficiency and throughput. Requirements

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
  • 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
  • 5+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle, including coding standards and operations
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
  • Machine Learning knowledge in frameworks and end-to-end model training

Responsibilities

  • Lead efforts to optimize distributed training performance on Trainium
  • Maximize training throughput and model flops utilization across the Neuron software stack
  • Work across PyTorch, JAX, and the Neuron compiler and runtime to enable large-scale training workloads
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across the stack
  • Collaborate with team members to enhance training efficiency
