Job description
The Microwave Design Engineer will join the quantum components team at IBM's Thomas J. Watson Research Center in Yorktown Heights, NY. This role focuses on developing advanced high-performance circuits for quantum computing systems, specifically microwave circuit designs for Josephson parametric devices. The ideal candidate will work on novel readout chains and microwave filters for traveling-wave parametric amplifiers. Strong collaboration and communication skills are essential for success in this multi-disciplinary team environment.
Requirements
- Master's degree in a relevant field is required.
- Demonstrated RF/microwave filter design knowledge, including notch filters and bandpass filters.
- Mastery of EM modeling and circuit design tools such as Keysight ADS, Ansys HFSS, and Cadence.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of microwave filters for use with traveling-wave parametric amplifiers.
- Design resonator structures for use in Josephson junction devices.
- Collaborate with a diverse and dynamic team of operational and technical personnel.
- Communicate technical ideas effectively through writing and presentations.
