The Product Installation Engineer at KLA is a vital link between the company and its customers, responsible for the installation and qualification of advanced semiconductor equipment. This role requires extensive travel and a commitment to customer satisfaction, ensuring installations are completed on time and meet quality standards. The engineer will work independently and collaboratively with various teams to diagnose and resolve technical issues. This position is part of the KLA Services team, which focuses on maintaining high performance and productivity of KLA products.
Requirements
- Associates of Science/Engineering/Technology minimum degree or equivalent work experience in supporting complex capital equipment for the semiconductor industry is required.
- Strong knowledge of electronics, fluid dynamics, mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electro-optical systems.
- Experience with chemistry or chemical analysis is strongly preferred.
- Comfort working with computer systems, operating systems, and networking (Windows, Unix, or similar environments).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Highly self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented.
- Able to work effectively across cultures, functions, and geographies.
Responsibilities
- Install and qualify advanced KLA systems at customer sites globally, ensuring installations are completed on schedule and meet quality standards.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues during installation by identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
- Perform setup, alignment, calibration, and verification of highly complex semiconductor capital equipment.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with KLA regions, engineering, and customer teams to verify system performance and transfer tool ownership.
- Provide clear status updates to all stakeholders throughout the installation process.
- Complete installation documentation and administrative requirements accurately and on time.
- Secure warranty sign-off on newly installed tools.
