Job description

The Product Installation Engineer at KLA is responsible for the installation and qualification of advanced semiconductor equipment at customer sites worldwide. This role is crucial in ensuring customer satisfaction and the successful start of warranty periods. The engineer will work independently while collaborating with various teams to maintain high standards of quality and performance. Extensive travel is required, as the engineer will be the face of KLA technology during installations.

Requirements

  • Associates of Science/Engineering/Technology minimum degree or equivalent work experience in supporting complex capital equipment for the semiconductor industry is required.
  • Strong knowledge of electronics, fluid dynamics, mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electro-optical systems is necessary.
  • Experience with chemistry or chemical analysis is strongly preferred.
  • Comfort working with computer systems, operating systems, and networking (Windows, Unix, or similar environments) is essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Install and qualify advanced KLA systems at customer sites globally, ensuring installations are completed on schedule and meet quality standards.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues during installation by identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
  • Perform setup, alignment, calibration, and verification of highly complex semiconductor capital equipment.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with KLA regions, engineering, and customer teams to verify system performance and transfer tool ownership.
  • Provide clear status updates to all stakeholders throughout the installation process.
  • Complete installation documentation and administrative requirements accurately and on time.
  • Secure warranty sign-off on newly installed tools.
