Job description

The Critical Infrastructure Field Engineer role at AWS focuses on supporting the electrical and cooling infrastructure within Supply Chain Facility Management and Data Centers. This position involves leading facility upgrades and greenfield projects to meet customer demands while ensuring safety and reliability. The engineer will collaborate with various teams to maintain operational efficiency and drive standardization across facilities. This role is essential for Amazon's vision of being the world's most customer-centric company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant experience in the electrical engineering field
  • 6+ years of experience with industrial, municipal, or commercial facility engineering
  • Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings and specifications
  • Experience with BMS and EPMS control systems and data collection
  • Broad understanding of mechanical, instrumentation, and electrical equipment related to industrial facilities
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) and/or advanced degree in engineering or related field

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot equipment failures and conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
  • Conduct feasibility studies for facility upgrades and improve operational efficiency
  • Drive standardization of space planning and design implementation
  • Interface with internal teams to promote standards for facility reliability
  • Initiate and lead engineering audits and produce reports with risk mitigations
  • Act as resident engineer during new construction and fit-out projects
  • Review preventive maintenance programs to ensure optimal facility performance
  • Engage in a mix of office and field work, with potential domestic and international travel
