The Critical Infrastructure Field Engineer role within AWS Infrastructure Services focuses on supporting the cooling infrastructure of Supply Chain Facility Management and Data Centers. This position involves collaborating with a diverse team of engineers and specialists to ensure the reliability and efficiency of critical building infrastructure. The engineer will lead projects related to facility upgrades and new constructions, while also addressing operational challenges. This role is essential for maintaining Amazon's commitment to customer-centric service and innovation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- 6+ years of experience with industrial, municipal, or commercial facility engineering.
- Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems involved in critical data center operations.
- Experience with Liquid Cooling technologies or advanced mechanical systems.
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot equipment failures and create corrective action documentation.
- Conduct feasibility studies for facility upgrades and improve operational efficiency.
- Drive standardization of space planning and design implementation.
- Interface with internal teams to promote standards for consistency and reliability.
- Initiate and lead engineering audits and produce reports with risk mitigations.
- Act as resident engineer during new construction and fit-out projects.
- Review preventive maintenance programs to ensure optimal facility performance.
- Lead facility upgrade and greenfield building projects to support operational demands.
