As a Member of Technical Staff - Electronics Engineer on Amazon's Frontier AI & Robotics team, you will design and test motor drive electronics for robotic actuators. This role involves working on printed circuit board designs that are integral to next-generation robotic systems. You will collaborate with firmware and mechanical engineers to ensure the electronics meet the real-time control requirements of robotic actuation. The team focuses on developing advanced AI models that enable robots to perform various tasks in warehouse automation.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a closely related technical field
• 5+ years of professional experience in power electronics design
• Expertise in inverter and motor drive circuit design
• Experience with current sensing circuit design and PCB-level integration
• Proficiency with electronics design tools including schematic capture and PCB layout
• Hands-on experience with power electronics lab characterization
• Experience designing motor drive electronics for robotic actuators or high-performance electromechanical systems
• Familiarity with wide-bandgap semiconductor devices
• Experience with integrated gate driver ICs and isolated power supply design
• Knowledge of EMC design practices for motor drive electronics

• Conceptualize, design, and validate motor drive electronics for robotic actuators
• Lead PCB-level design of compact, high-power-density motor drive boards
• Characterize and optimize inverter switching performance and thermal behavior
• Define and implement current sensing architectures and position/velocity sensing interfaces
• Partner with firmware engineers to define hardware-software interfaces for motor drive control
• Collaborate with motor design and mechanical engineers to specify electrical characteristics of motors
• Lead hardware bring-up, functional testing, and failure analysis for new actuator electronics prototypes
• Define electronics design standards and mentor junior engineers in best practices
