The AWS Dedicated Cloud Engineer role focuses on creating resilient cloud systems for mission-critical operations. The team is dedicated to ensuring the seamless operation of AWS's dedicated cloud regions through proactive reliability engineering and automation. Engineers in this position will independently solve complex problems, build automation, and serve as subject-matter experts in their technical domains. The role also involves mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with U.S. Intelligence and Defense agencies to implement secure cloud solutions.
Requirements
- Associate's degree or above, or Cloud+ or GICSP or GSEC or SSCP certification.
- 2+ years of systems administration experience in Linux or Windows.
- Experience in systems administration, network administration, AWS cloud app development, DevOps, or site reliability engineering.
- 3+ years of scripting language experience.
- 3+ years of experience deploying and operating in a Linux/Unix environment.
- Current, active TS/SCI US Government Security Clearance.
- 5+ years of systems administration, network administration, AWS cloud app development, DevOps, or site reliability engineering experience.
- 5+ years of scripting language experience.
- 5+ years of Linux operating systems experience.
- 2+ years of experience with AWS services or other cloud offerings.
Responsibilities
- Independently diagnose and resolve novel issues across multiple service domains without relying on existing SOPs.
- Design, implement, and maintain automation that reduces operational burden and improves regional reliability.
- Develop and maintain deep subject-matter expertise in at least one technical area.
- Expand regional coverage for AWS's critical services by identifying systemic risks and driving solutions.
- Guide engineers through complex troubleshooting and share knowledge across the team.
- Partner with U.S. Intelligence and Defense agencies to ensure mission resilience.
