In this role, you will influence the mechanical design, construction, operations, and maintenance of AWS's global data centers. You will work with a diverse team of engineers and specialists to ensure the highest standards for safety and security while optimizing capacity and cost. The position involves collaborating with internal and external teams to define and document mechanical features, ensuring compliance with design standards and local codes. You will also contribute to the continual improvement of mechanical design standards across the organization.

• 6+ years of data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance experience
• 6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering experience in mission critical facilities
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
• Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment
• Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods
• Professional Engineering or Architectural License
• Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region

• Drive improvement of design standards and project approaches across the organization.
• Work with internal and external design teams to review designs in progress.
• Provide high quality mechanical engineering advice on a wide variety of projects globally.
• Coordinate with construction, commissioning, and risk management teams.
• Be responsible for construction documents, code compliance, and design standards.
• Prepare detailed designs for HVAC, plumbing, and hydronic systems.
• Ensure contractors have the information they need to build data centers as expected.
