This role involves leading the development and management of identity systems that support major AWS and Stores services at Amazon. The position is part of the AFSS Identity organization, focusing on the LDAP Core and Switchboard teams. The main responsibilities include overseeing the 389DS software lifecycle, driving automated region builds, and mentoring engineers. • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
• 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team
• 5+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

• Lead the REGAL regionalized architecture and ensure full partition coverage.
• Own the 389DS software lifecycle including upgrade train and schema management.
• Drive pipeline-driven automated region builds to eliminate manual processes.
• Lead schema evolution discipline by documenting attributes and analyzing consumer impact.
• Architect and evolve the LDAP Read Proxy for schema-routed access.
• Manage GSAM as the system-account control plane across various systems.
• Oversee LDAP Time Machine and the Identity Data Lake for analytics and security.
• Set observability standards across all access paths for consistent telemetry.
• Serve as Tier-1 on-call anchor for directory availability and replication health.
• Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar across both teams.
