The Lead AI/ML Engineer will work within Apple's iCloud Efficiency team, focusing on enhancing the efficiency of cloud services through Generative AI and agentic systems. This role involves providing technical leadership to streamline AI efforts across the organization and improve operational excellence. The engineer will collaborate with various teams to design and deploy AI-driven systems that optimize resource efficiency and operational workflows. Success will be measured by the adoption of shared patterns and tools, as well as measurable improvements in engineering productivity and cost savings.

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, infrastructure engineering, or large-scale cloud services environments.
• Proven experience designing, building, or technically leading production GenAI, ML platform, developer productivity, infrastructure automation, or tooling systems.
• Hands-on experience with GenAI technologies and LLM application architecture.
• Demonstrated technical leadership across teams, including architecture reviews and mentoring.
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure operations and operational safety principles.
• Strong software development skills in Python, Java, or similar languages.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
