Job description
The role is for a Hardware Engineer in Apple's Camera Hardware Engineering group, focusing on the development of high-performance compact camera modules. The engineer will collaborate with various teams to research, design, develop, test, and qualify camera hardware for Apple products. This position requires a deep understanding of camera systems and innovative technology to enhance photography experiences. The engineer will also take leadership in camera hardware projects and contribute to the overall vision of Apple's camera technology.
Requirements
- BS degree in a relevant field.
- MS degree and 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Mechanical design experience using CAD 3D molding and drafting package.
- Basic structural and thermal Finite Element Analysis (FEA) experience.
- Experience with NX software.
- Ability to perform tolerance analysis of high complexity and precision mechanical designs.
- Excellent understanding of GD&T.
- Experience designing for plastic injection molding and metal stamping for mass production.
- Familiarity with various materials including research, selection, testing, and process ability.
- Experience in authoring documentation on mechanical inspection and fixture design.
- PCB design experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of magnetic simulation and voice coil motor (VCM) for cameras.
