The Personal Search Intelligence team at Apple is seeking an experienced Machine Learning Engineer to contribute to the development of innovative AI features that enhance user interaction with personal information. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in machine learning and deep learning, as well as hands-on experience with large language models. • Masters or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related field
• Strong machine learning and deep learning fundamentals
• Hands-on experience with large language models (LLMs), prompt optimization, and fine-tuning of LLMs
• Hands-on experience with automated evaluation frameworks for agentic workflows
• Strong programming and software engineering experience in one or more of the following languages: Python, C, C++, Swift
• Extensive experience with evaluation data and frameworks
• Extensive experience with personal search
• Experience with large vision-language and multi-modal foundation models

• Develop and implement advanced machine learning models for personal search applications
• Optimize and fine-tune large language models to improve user experience
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI features into Apple products
• Evaluate and enhance automated frameworks for agentic workflows
