The Systems Development Engineer II role at AWS focuses on implementing innovative cloud computing solutions for U.S. Government agencies. The team is responsible for building and operating large-scale distributed systems while ensuring a high-quality customer experience. Candidates will work closely with demanding government customers to address their specific needs in cloud computing and governance environments. A strong foundation in Linux, networking, and system design is essential for success in this position.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional)
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of experience designing or architecting new and existing systems
- Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals including networking, storage, and operating systems
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, or Ruby
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Experience utilizing AWS cloud solutions in a DevOps environment
- Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology
Responsibilities
- Administer and troubleshoot Linux-based systems in large-scale distributed environments.
- Design, deploy, monitor, and automate infrastructure, tools, and systems for high availability.
- Drive the resolution of technical issues to improve customer experience.
- Facilitate deep-dive troubleshooting and lead technical post-mortem discussions.
- Work closely with Amazon's government customers to address their specific needs.
