As an ICT Colo Regional Engineer at AWS, you will be part of a global engineering team focused on designing critical communications pathways within AWS data centers. This role involves collaborating with engineers and managers to develop connectivity solutions and specifications for construction. You will be part of a diverse team that values innovation and continuous learning, working to improve infrastructure quality and reduce costs. The position requires travel to various data centers to coordinate with onsite personnel and contractors.
Requirements
- 10+ years of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) design experience in Mission Critical Environments.
- 5+ years of experience developing design documentation for construction and/or permitting.
- 5+ years of working experience with fiber optic components, cabling, and interconnect products.
- BICSI RCDD Certification or internationally recognized equivalent.
- Professional Engineering (PE) Electrical License.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
Responsibilities
- Ensure timely delivery of scalable fiber optic and copper plant designs and specifications.
- Review and approve ICT pathway, cable, and equipment submittals.
- Identify and respond to risks and high-priority issues rapidly and effectively.
- Support new technology and design activities that improve infrastructure quality, reduce cost, and installation time.
- Travel 40+% to review projects and coordinate with onsite personnel and contractors at AWS' Data Centers.
