Job description

This role involves designing and building distributed services that manage entity data for AWS's global infrastructure. The team focuses on modernizing legacy systems into a unified platform while ensuring compliance and correctness in billing transactions. You will work on high-impact projects that directly affect AWS's ability to expand into new markets. The position requires collaboration with various partner teams and mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
  • 1+ years of experience in software development engineering or related fields
  • 1+ years of experience designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, or distributed software applications
  • 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field

Responsibilities

  • Design and build distributed services that store and synchronize entity data across AWS's infrastructure.
  • Develop and extend the rules engine for determining the correct Seller of Record for AWS transactions.
  • Own the full lifecycle of features including design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
  • Improve the reliability and performance of Tier 1 billing-path services processing millions of events daily.
  • Build tooling and automation to reduce developer effort for market expansions.
  • Collaborate with partner teams to evolve shared entity models and APIs.
  • Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and design discussions.

Benefits

  • Employees at Amazon are often offered comprehensive health benefits—including multiple medical plan options (no pre-existing condition exclusions, 100% covered in-network preventive care), dental and vision plans, a 24/7 medical advice line from day one, expert second-opinion services, and broad mental-health support with several free counseling sessions (including pediatric). Financial wellness typically includes a 401(k) with company match (up to 2%), Restricted Stock Units (equity), FSAs, an emergency savings program, product and partner discounts, and even college-savings and home-purchase programs. Overall, the package is designed to support employees and their families’ health, finances, and day-to-day life.
