Job description
This role involves designing and building distributed services that manage entity data for AWS's global infrastructure. The team focuses on modernizing legacy systems into a unified platform while ensuring compliance and correctness in billing transactions. You will work on high-impact projects that directly affect AWS's ability to expand into new markets. The position requires collaboration with various partner teams and mentoring junior engineers.
Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
- 1+ years of experience in software development engineering or related fields
- 1+ years of experience designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, or distributed software applications
- 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
Responsibilities
- Design and build distributed services that store and synchronize entity data across AWS's infrastructure.
- Develop and extend the rules engine for determining the correct Seller of Record for AWS transactions.
- Own the full lifecycle of features including design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
- Improve the reliability and performance of Tier 1 billing-path services processing millions of events daily.
- Build tooling and automation to reduce developer effort for market expansions.
- Collaborate with partner teams to evolve shared entity models and APIs.
- Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and design discussions.
