Job description
The Manufacturing Engineer at Amazon Leo will lead production development for a key module in the next generation spacecraft. This role involves solving complex technical challenges to ensure high-quality and cost-effective production processes. The engineer will collaborate with various teams, including design, factory operations, and quality engineering, to drive manufacturing processes from initial introduction to full-rate production. This position is crucial for increasing production capacity through strategic capital investment and automation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience
- Experience in a consumer electronics lab environment
- Experience in a Linux or Unix environment
- Experience working on a consumer hardware or software product
- Experience configuring, deploying, and testing software updates
- Experience working with hardware and software teams for setting up, testing, and troubleshooting prototype devices
Responsibilities
- Lead production process development, introduction, improvement, and maintenance of a key module
- Serve as the leading technical voice for a team of manufacturing engineers
- Drive manufacturing processes from initial production introduction to full-rate production
- Partner with development on the design of future iterations of the system and sub-assembly
- Solve complex industrial challenges associated with balancing production velocity, quality, and cost
- Increase production capacity through vision and execution of capital investment for production scaling and automation
