The role involves executing hardware and software test and validation plans to ensure the performance, durability, and reliability of electric motor and lubrication systems. You will be part of the Electric Power Conversion group at Rivian's Carson, California facility. The position requires designing test setups, conducting tests, and performing detailed data analysis and report generation. The team is dedicated to innovative solutions in the electric vehicle sector, emphasizing safety and consistency in testing.

• Bachelor's or Master’s in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in Electrical Motors or Electrical hardware testing and development.
• Expertise in NI LabVIEW programming and thorough knowledge of CAN communication and debugging.
• Experience in NI Veristand configuration and maintenance of HIL systems.
• Proficiency in test control and data acquisition systems.
• Experience with Vector CANalyzer/canoe scripting in CAPL.
• Expertise in instrumentation such as thermocouples, torque sensors, and pressure gauges.
• Experience in data analysis and scripting for automated tools like NI diadem, Python, and Matlab.
• Strong problem-solving skills and experience with electrical and mechanical hardware troubleshooting.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced development environment.

• Lead development and maintenance of software tools for traction motor test systems.
• Design and implement test and data acquisition hardware setups for electric motor systems.
• Guide test operators in executing testing and report generation.
• Design and develop NI or equivalent hardware test control cabinets.
• Ensure test systems are controlled safely and consistently.
• Create summary reports for all conducted tests and provide data analytics.
• Build new lab setups and select appropriate test equipment.
• Troubleshoot and maintain testing equipment.
