The Reliability Engineering organization at Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. is focused on defining and executing reliability strategies for advanced semiconductor technologies. The team ensures robust qualification and technology certification across devices, packages, and systems by applying deep expertise in reliability physics. This role involves working cross-functionally to anticipate and mitigate reliability risks while balancing performance, power, quality, and business objectives. As a technical authority, the engineer will mentor others and communicate reliability insights to senior leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Material Science, Computer Science, or related field and 8+ years of Reliability Engineering experience, or a Master's degree with 7+ years, or a PhD with 6+ years.
- 3+ years in a technical leadership role with or without direct reports.
- 10 - 15 years of industry experience in semiconductor reliability engineering, technology development, or product qualification.
- Deep expertise in intrinsic device and interconnect reliability physics and failure mechanisms.
- Hands-on experience in designing reliability test structures and interpreting complex reliability data.
- Strong background in advanced packaging and heterogeneous integration reliability.
- Advanced statistical analysis and lifetime modeling expertise.
Responsibilities
- Define foundry qualification reliability requirements and execute tech certification for complex designs.
- Lead reliability strategy and execution for high-impact products and programs.
- Perform and guide advanced reliability analysis to assess design and process robustness.
- Anticipate, identify, and mitigate non-obvious reliability risks across the product lifecycle.
- Drive cross-functional alignment with design, process, test, product, and program teams.
- Establish and improve organizational reliability processes and best practices.
- Provide expert technical judgment on critical reliability trade-offs.
- Mentor and develop engineers while serving as a trusted technical authority.
- Communicate reliability status, risks, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
