Job description
The Senior Network/Systems Tools Engineer role at Jacobs involves supporting the Intelligence Sector by designing and maintaining the OpenText Network Operations Management system architecture. The engineer will work closely with junior administrators to provide guidance on security and compliance. Requirements
- Candidate must have 16 years of experience that can be a combination of work history and education.
- Must be compliant with DoD 8140 Information Assurance Technical Level 2.
- Deep expertise in container orchestration technologies like Kubernetes in Linux environments is required.
- Proficiency in Linux (RHEL) with experience administering tools in virtualized or containerized environments is necessary.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities along with solid communication skills are essential.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain the OpenText Network Operations Management system architecture.
- Provide SME support and guidance to junior administrators managing user accounts and access controls.
- Plan, install, configure, secure, upgrade, and patch the OPTIC Data Lake in containerized environments.
- Monitor and optimize the performance and stability of the OpenText NOM and OPTIC DL systems.
- Administer the OPTIC Data Lake, including data ingestion, storage, backup, and restore processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to installation, configuration, and performance.
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation according to standards.
- Automate routine operational processes using scripting to increase efficiency.
