Job description

The Microsoft Defender engineering team is seeking a Software Engineer to develop and deliver cloud security solutions that protect millions of computers from cyber threats. This role involves working with advanced technologies to provide holistic protection in government environments. The team is dedicated to evolving services to meet the challenges posed by ever-changing attackers. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline with proven experience coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  • Active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with Polygraph.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements pre-offer and post-hire.
  • Verification of U.S. citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions.

Responsibilities

  • Build and improve services to be scalable and highly reliable.
  • Help deliver and improve engineering systems and practices for complex cloud environments.
  • Contribute to design and automate service scale features and customer requirements.
  • Investigate pre-production and production issues, implement, and deploy fixes.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation within a secure facility.
