Job description

As a CPU Physical Design Infrastructure and Automation Engineer at Qualcomm, you will collaborate with implementation and CAD teams to enhance infrastructure and automate processes for next-generation CPUs. The role requires a strong background in synthesis, place and route, and timing/power analysis. You will also leverage your scripting skills to improve design efficiency and address bottlenecks. This position offers the opportunity to work on innovative projects that impact CPU design across multiple domains.

Requirements

  • Experience with synthesis, place and route, and signoff timing/power analysis.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as TCL, Python, Perl, CSS, HTML, JS, and CGI.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 2+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 1+ year of experience, or a PhD in a related field.
  • Understanding of industry-standard tools for synthesis, place & route, STA, and design signoff.
  • Data analytics skills to identify and root cause design bottlenecks.

Responsibilities

  • Work with cross-functional teams to establish design infrastructure and dashboards for multiple CPU designs.
  • Analyze, implement, and improve optimization methods in collaboration with block-level implementation teams.
  • Develop new prediction models and automation for quick timing, power, and area estimation.
