Job description

Amazon is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to enhance assembly operations through hands-on development of processes and equipment. The role involves collaborating with product design teams and iterating on assembly methods for complex electromechanical products. Candidates should thrive in dynamic environments and be eager to tackle new challenges. This position emphasizes technical execution and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of direct manufacturing engineering experience in high-volume assembly environments for complex products.
  • Hands-on experience with assembly methods including mechanical joining, fastening, and adhesive bonding.
  • Familiarity with production system design, vendor engagement, and equipment bring-up.
  • Understanding of DFM/DFA principles and their application in iterative product development.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and data-driven problem-solving.
  • Knowledge of SolidWorks simulation or Ansys Finite Element analysis tools.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with product design teams to provide DFM/DFA feedback and advocate for producible assembly processes.
  • Develop and prove out assembly methods for complex electromechanical products.
  • Support PFMEA development and contribute process knowledge upstream in product development.
  • Support manufacturing line concept, design, requirements, sizing, balancing, timing, material flow, equipment specification, and commissioning.
  • Contribute to line requirements including layout, work content, cycle times, rates, and headcount.
  • Support design of new assembly equipment and fixturing, including vendor RFQ and selection.
  • Coordinate with equipment OEMs, tooling suppliers, and automation integrators.
  • Support end-to-end project execution and production readiness.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce non-value-add operations and drive improvements.
  • Develop and document assembly processes, work instructions, and control plans.

Benefits

  • Employees at Amazon are often offered comprehensive health benefits—including multiple medical plan options (no pre-existing condition exclusions, 100% covered in-network preventive care), dental and vision plans, a 24/7 medical advice line from day one, expert second-opinion services, and broad mental-health support with several free counseling sessions (including pediatric). Financial wellness typically includes a 401(k) with company match (up to 2%), Restricted Stock Units (equity), FSAs, an emergency savings program, product and partner discounts, and even college-savings and home-purchase programs. Overall, the package is designed to support employees and their families’ health, finances, and day-to-day life.
