Job description

The Apps Development Senior Manager will lead engineering delivery for the Trade Manager Zone platform within the Cash Securities Settlements group, focusing on the Equity Growth Initiative. This role involves overseeing high-performing engineering teams responsible for mission-critical settlement systems while driving architectural excellence and technical transformation. The manager will embed AI and ML into the platform to enhance delivery and code quality. This position requires deep technical expertise and the ability to navigate complexities in a fast-paced financial environment.

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on proficiency in Kotlin as the primary programming language for platform services.
  • Experience with Python for data pipelines, AI/ML integration, scripting, and automation.
  • Deep expertise in production-grade Java applications for core backend development.
  • Hands-on experience with microservices architecture and event-driven systems using Kafka or Solace.
  • Proven experience optimizing systems for low-latency and high-performance computing in financial environments.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, develop, and maintain robust applications supporting equity trade settlement workflows.
  • Lead the design of distributed, fault-tolerant, real-time systems for high-volume trade processing.
  • Champion the use of AI-assisted coding tools to improve developer productivity and code quality.
  • Drive adoption of trunk-based development practices for continuous integration and rapid delivery.
  • Ensure code quality by adhering to SOLID principles and conducting hands-on coding and code reviews.
