This role involves building a security automation platform that protects Amazon's sensitive corporate systems, including finance and HR. You will have full ownership of the architecture and technology approach, working on detection pipelines and security alerting platforms. The position requires hands-on engineering and leadership, mentoring engineers, and influencing security engineering strategy. You will collaborate with application security teams to enhance automated scanning processes.
Requirements
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
- 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
- Experience as a mentor or tech lead for an engineering team
- 5+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle, including coding standards and operations
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate security automation systems on AWS for corporate applications.
- Own the architecture of detection pipelines, alerting platforms, and custom rule engines.
- Build integrations with application security teams for continuous automated scanning.
- Lead technical design across multiple efforts and review the work of other engineers.
- Write and operationalize detection rules that surface security issues during code review.
- Mentor engineers and communicate technical strategy to leadership.
