This role involves working with AWS Infrastructure Services to design, plan, and operate global data centers. The team is diverse, comprising engineers, supply chain specialists, and security experts, all focused on delivering high standards for safety and security. The position requires collaboration with various teams to assess and select colocation facilities that meet business requirements. Candidates should have a strong background in data center design and engineering, with opportunities to influence standards and improve processes.

• 6+ years of data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance experience
• 6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including data centers, power generation, or oil and gas facilities
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
• Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment
• Experience in researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities
• Professional Engineering or Architectural License
• Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region
• Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents

• Conduct site assessments against AWS standards for collocation data centers and telecommunications facilities within the region
• Review vendor critical infrastructure designs and perform risk analysis and availability calculations for vendor owned and operated collocation data centers
• Influence AWS’ design and specification requirements to meet business needs for AWS colocation products
• Investigate and document root-cause failure analysis associated with infrastructure and equipment failures
• Work with vendors and local agencies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and municipal requirements and codes
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and commissioning teams to test and validate the installation and performance of critical systems
• Support operations and data scientists to determine utilization, efficiency, and performance analysis on critical systems
• Travel to data center sites as required, both internationally and domestically, up to 50%
