Job description

The Senior Security & Compliance Engineer role at AWS Security Assurance Services focuses on leading the design, deployment, and implementation of AWS security and compliance solutions for highly regulated customers. The team aims to establish scalable security solutions that drive business outcomes while ensuring compliance in the cloud. This position involves building custom security controls and AI-enabled automation to enhance security frameworks. The engineer will also communicate security risks and design decisions to various stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in identifying security issues and risks, and developing mitigation plans.
  • 4+ years of experience in scripting, programming, and security code review in common programming languages.
  • Knowledge of at least two programming languages such as Scala, Java, Python, C/C++, or Go.
  • 8+ years as a technical specialist, including 5+ years in secure coding, software development, or cloud security engineering.
  • Strong programming and scripting skills in Python, TypeScript, Node.js, Go, Java, or .NET.
  • Advanced proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform, AWS CDK, and/or CloudFormation.
  • Expert-level experience with AWS security and governance services.

Responsibilities

  • Own design and architecture choices for security and compliance automation solutions.
  • Engineer and lead AI-enabled automations and threat modeling.
  • Build secure-by-design Infrastructure-as-Code modules for various architectures.
  • Lead the design, deployment, and implementation of AWS security controls.
  • Architect custom preventive, detective, and proactive controls.
  • Write and review scripts and Infrastructure-as-Code.
  • Lead exploratory proof of concepts on emerging technologies.
  • Communicate security risk and design decisions to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Identify and shape sales opportunities and influence service-team roadmaps.
