The Senior Security & Compliance Engineer role at AWS Security Assurance Services focuses on leading the design, deployment, and implementation of AWS security and compliance solutions for highly regulated customers. • 5+ years of experience in identifying security issues and risks, and developing mitigation plans.
• 4+ years of experience in scripting, programming, and security code review in common programming languages.
• Knowledge of at least two programming languages such as Scala, Java, Python, C/C++, or Go.
• 8+ years as a technical specialist, including 5+ years in secure coding, software development, or cloud security engineering.
• Strong programming and scripting skills in Python, TypeScript, Node.js, Go, Java, or .NET.
• Advanced proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform, AWS CDK, and/or CloudFormation.
• Expert-level experience with AWS security and governance services.

• Own design and architecture choices for security and compliance automation solutions.
• Engineer and lead AI-enabled automations and threat modeling.
• Build secure-by-design Infrastructure-as-Code modules for various architectures.
• Lead the design, deployment, and implementation of AWS security controls.
• Architect custom preventive, detective, and proactive controls.
• Write and review scripts and Infrastructure-as-Code.
• Lead exploratory proof of concepts on emerging technologies.
• Communicate security risk and design decisions to technical and non-technical audiences.
