Job description

As an IT Support Engineer I at Amazon, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality technical support for computer hardware, operating systems, and enterprise application software. You will be part of the Operations Technology Solutions team, which is essential for maintaining the efficiency of Amazon's operations worldwide. The role requires troubleshooting and solving straightforward problems while ensuring the availability of IT infrastructure during production hours. You will also manage local technical projects and interact with management and staff to improve IT solutions.

Requirements

  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • 2+ years of professional experience in IT support
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in IT-related fields such as networking or system administration
  • 2+ years of troubleshooting experience in a multi-user high availability environment
  • 2+ years of networking experience including DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP
  • 2+ years of PC repair and troubleshooting experience
  • 1+ years of IT client, server, and network service delivery experience
  • Possess and maintain a current, valid Driver License
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, or Cisco/CCNA are preferred
  • Experience in data center design or operations is a plus
  • Strong communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

  • Perform network engineering and troubleshooting in various software and hardware environments.
  • Ensure infrastructure networking and computing systems remain available during production hours.
  • Provide analytical and technical assistance for continuous improvement of IT solutions.
  • Manage local technical projects and maintain or create policies and procedures.
  • Identify root causes of operational issues and process inefficiencies.
  • Support customers from multiple buildings and remote locations.
  • Travel within the local or regional area to provide customer support.
  • Move up to 49lbs and stand or walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours.
