Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Network Infrastructure Engineer to join the Infrastructure Operations team, focusing on building and scaling Amazon Dedicated Cloud regions. The role involves ensuring the stability and sustainability of next-generation networks while collaborating with internal customers and external vendors. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess strong communication skills, and have experience in supporting large-scale networks. This position requires a US Citizen with an active TS/SCI security clearance and offers opportunities for innovation and automation in network management.
Requirements
- 3+ years of data center engineering or operations experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Knowledge of network design and layout as well as low voltage (copper/fiber) cabling
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field
- Knowledge of IP networking fundamentals such as BGP, OSPF and other R&S technologies
- General comprehension of the various components and sub-components of data center infrastructure
Responsibilities
- Clearly communicate project status and blockers to leadership and project management.
- Perform device build and cabling validation activities.
- Manage cabling vendor activities and perform quality assurance activities.
- Support Network Engineering deployment activities during scheduled change management windows.
- Participate in the migration, basic configuration, and rollout of new or upgraded hardware.
- Complete customer requests via Remedy trouble ticketing system.
- Troubleshoot networking, routing, and interconnectivity issues.
- Deliver simple, sustainable, and repeatable solutions and processes.
- Manage work and priorities through the ticketing system and workflow.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles.
- Travel within geographical work area is required, with up to 40% travel outside traditional work area.
