Job description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Network Infrastructure Engineer to enhance and scale network systems within dedicated cloud regions. This role is part of the Infrastructure Operations team, focusing on the stability and sustainability of next-generation networks. The ideal candidate will work closely with internal customers and external vendors to ensure smooth project execution while driving innovative automation solutions. A collaborative and fast-paced environment is emphasized, with a strong focus on documentation and communication.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of network cabling, fiber optics, and test equipment experience including VFL, power meter, and OTDR.
  • 3+ years of data center engineering or operations experience.
  • Experience with networking fundamentals.
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.
  • Knowledge of IP networking fundamentals such as BGP, OSPF and other R&S technologies.
  • CCNA or equivalent level networking certification, or Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience in data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Clearly communicate project status and blockers to leadership and project management.
  • Perform device build and cabling validation activities.
  • Manage cabling vendor activities and perform quality assurance activities.
  • Support Network Engineering deployment activities during scheduled change management windows.
  • Participate in the migration, basic configuration, and rollout of new or upgraded hardware.
  • Complete customer requests via Remedy trouble ticketing system.
  • Troubleshoot networking, routing, and interconnectivity issues.
  • Deliver simple, sustainable, and repeatable solutions and processes.
  • Manage work and priorities through the ticketing system and workflow.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles.
  • Travel within geographical work area is required, with up to 40% travel outside traditional work area.
