The Network Development Engineer role at AWS focuses on building, deploying, and scaling Amazon networks that support AWS and its customers across multiple global datacenters. The position is part of the Network Fabric Engineering team, which is responsible for ensuring efficient operation of data center networks. This role involves collaborating with various teams to deliver high standards of safety and security while maintaining cost efficiency. Requirements
- 1+ years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell, and/or Perl experience.
- 4+ years experience in a network focused hands-on technical role working with IP routing protocols/technologies and platforms in large scale data center and/or WAN network environments.
- 4+ years experience developing engineering, deployment, or operations mechanisms to support IP network and/or networking systems.
- 4+ years experience in a technical on-call capacity, responding to customer impacting events, mitigating and root cause analysis of those events.
- Thorough understanding of TCP/IP networking, IP routing, Server Load Balancing, and Network Security architecture and core technologies.
Responsibilities
- Create and implement changes on the network.
- Work closely with automation teams to define tools for scaling.
- Lead network projects in areas such as deployment, scaling, and optimization.
- Sustain AWS's next generation networks by providing critical support during large-scale networking events.
- Operate and troubleshoot network routing, interconnectivity, and performance issues.
