Job description
The IT Support Engineer I role at Amazon focuses on providing high-quality technical support for computer hardware, operating systems, and enterprise application software. This position is part of the Operations Technology Solutions team, which plays a crucial role in supporting Amazon's operations globally. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and capable of troubleshooting straightforward problems while ensuring the availability of IT infrastructure. The role also involves interacting with management and staff to improve IT solutions and support customers across multiple locations.
Requirements
- 1+ years of experience with Windows Server technologies such as AD, DFS, Print Services, and SCCM.
- 2+ years of experience troubleshooting in a multi-user high availability environment.
- 2+ years of experience in PC repair, troubleshooting, deployment, and liquidation.
- 1+ years of experience in IT client, server, and network service delivery.
- 2+ years of experience in networking, including DNS, DHCP, SSL, OSI Model, and TCP/IP.
- 2+ years of experience supporting corporate Windows, Mac, or Linux operating systems.
- 2+ years of experience maintaining a corporate network environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals, security, databases, and operating systems.
- 2+ years of experience in computer networking.
- Experience supporting video conference and teleconference equipment.
- Experience working independently with minimal supervision or 2+ years of Amazon experience.
Responsibilities
- Perform network engineering and troubleshooting, data cabling, and systems administration in various software and hardware environments.
- Ensure infrastructure networking and computing systems remain available during production hours.
- Interact with management and staff to provide analytical and technical assistance for continuous improvement of IT solutions.
- Manage local technical projects.
- Maintain or create policies, procedures, and processes.
- Identify root causes of operational issues and process inefficiencies.
- Move up to 49lbs and stand or walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours.
- Support customers from multiple buildings in the area, as well as remote customers.
- Travel within the local or regional area to support customers.
