The Network Infrastructure Engineer at Amazon Web Services (AWS) will focus on building and scaling network systems for Amazon Dedicated Cloud regions. This role is part of the Infrastructure Operations team, which is responsible for ensuring the stability and sustainability of next-generation networks. The engineer will work closely with internal customers and external vendors to facilitate project execution and will be involved in automating and enhancing network operations. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while managing large-scale enterprise networks.
Requirements
- 3+ years of data center engineering or operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Knowledge of IP networking fundamentals such as BGP, OSPF and other R&S technologies
- Experience with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Knowledge of network cabling, optic types, and test equipment
- General comprehension of the various components and sub-components of data center infrastructure
Responsibilities
- Clearly communicate project status and blockers to leadership and project management.
- Perform device build and cabling validation activities.
- Manage cabling vendor activities and perform quality assurance activities.
- Support Network Engineering deployment activities during scheduled change management windows.
- Participate in the migration, basic configuration, and rollout of new or upgraded hardware.
- Complete customer requests via the Remedy trouble ticketing system.
- Troubleshoot networking, routing, and interconnectivity issues.
- Deliver simple, sustainable, and repeatable solutions and processes.
- Manage work and priorities through the ticketing system and workflow.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles.
- Travel within geographical work area is required, with up to 40% travel outside traditional work area.
