Job description

The Software Development Engineer role focuses on building secure and scalable AI-powered services within the AWS SMGS-Galaxi team. This team is dedicated to enhancing data security, access governance, and automation for internal users across AWS. The position involves working on backend distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and frontend micro-applications. The engineer will have ownership of services from architecture to deployment, ensuring security and compliance are integral to the product.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
  • 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications
  • 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
  • Experience developing, deploying and managing AI products at scale
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Build secure, scalable distributed systems on AWS using various services via CDK
  • Develop multi-agent AI systems utilizing Bedrock Agents and knowledge graphs
  • Implement zero-trust access control mechanisms including IAM role chaining and least-privilege auth
  • Build MCP servers with authorization boundaries and audit logging
  • Architect observability for AI agents including invocation auditing and access pattern analysis
  • Drive operational excellence through threat modeling and security scanning
  • Collaborate across teams on system design, code reviews, and technical strategy
