Job description

This role is part of Apple's Information Systems and Technology organization, focusing on building high-quality, user-centered experiences for internal tools. The Employee Experience and Productivity team delivers communication and productivity technology while leading user experience design. The position involves shaping technical strategy and platform architecture for native applications across Apple platforms. The engineer will mentor junior engineers and influence the evolution of applications used by thousands of employees worldwide.

Requirements

  • Exceptional depth in Swift, SwiftUI, and Apple-platform architecture across macOS, iOS, and iPadOS.
  • Demonstrated ability to define and drive technical strategy across multiple application domains.
  • Proven track record of mentoring engineers and raising the technical quality of a team.
  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with AI integration patterns and platform interoperability at an architectural level.
  • Deep understanding of user experience quality.
  • Experience defining platform architecture for native applications serving large internal or external user bases.
  • History of driving technical innovation with broad adoption across a team or organization.
  • Experience shaping engineering culture around quality, inclusion, and technical growth.
  • Deep familiarity with Apple's AI frameworks and system integration capabilities.
  • Record of successful cross-functional influence at a senior level.
  • Experience with globally distributed teams and asynchronous collaboration at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a small team on the technical strategy for native applications.
  • Shape multi-year direction for the team's platform architecture.
  • Establish engineering practices that raise the quality bar.
  • Lead the resolution of complex challenges that span multiple systems.
  • Collaborate directly with leadership and represent the team in technical forums.
  • Grow the next generation of engineers through mentorship and technical leadership.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
