Job description
The Systems Development Engineer I role at Amazon Web Services (AWS) focuses on implementing innovative cloud computing solutions for U.S. Intelligence Community and Defense agencies. The position is part of the Amazon Software Builder Experience (ASBX) Pyxis ADC team, which is responsible for foundational services that support software development in air-gapped regions. The ideal candidate will work in a fast-paced environment, designing and supporting resilient systems that enable thousands of builders to ship software safely. This role requires a passion for operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Strong Linux and networking fundamentals with experience in a large-scale, distributed environment.
- Experience in systems development, software engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language and familiarity with cloud technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to break down complex issues.
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver technology solutions to solve difficult business problems.
- Work autonomously on components and applications that enhance major products.
- Help solve ambiguous problems and architectural deficiencies.
- Participate in design, scoping, and prioritization discussions.
- Troubleshoot difficult problems and research root causes.
