Job description

Google is seeking a Senior Robotics Automation Engineer to join the Physical Infrastructure Robotics team. This team focuses on implementing robotics technologies to enhance operations within data centers. The role involves leading various robotics engineering disciplines to develop innovative solutions for next-generation data center operations. Collaboration with hardware, software, and system engineers is essential to ensure seamless product integration and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in mechatronics engineering and robotics product development.
  • Experience deploying full-stack robotics systems.
  • Experience with robotics applications development or transitioning R&D projects into deployed systems.
  • Experience with robotic control, planning, kinematics, or mechatronic systems.

Responsibilities

  • Set the goals for the robotics stack, guiding architecture, systems design, and integration.
  • Build and lead high-performing engineering teams across mechanical, electrical, embedded, and software disciplines within Robotics engineering.
  • Lead hardware architecture reviews with software and system teams to identify and address potential gaps in the technical design.
  • Participate in design reviews to address technical issues during development and document design decisions.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams and external partners throughout the development life-cycle.
