The Robotics Infrastructure Engineer will be part of the DoorDash Labs team, focusing on developing and managing the infrastructure for aerial autonomy. This role involves working on onboard systems that ensure the reliability of drones during operation. The engineer will also be responsible for building tools that enhance team productivity and support development workflows. This position requires a strong foundation in robotics and systems-level software engineering.
Requirements
- Prior experience at a robotics company in a similar infrastructure role
- Experience with robotics middleware such as ROS2, LCM, or eCal
- Proficiency in build systems and package managers like CMake, Bazel, or Nix
- Experience with NVidia Jetson and JetPack
- Strong skills in C++ and Python, with comfort in systems-level debugging
- A BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field
Responsibilities
- Develop and own critical onboard components including process management and health monitoring
- Manage the build system and middleware layer, including cross-compilation for Jetson targets
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines and regression testing infrastructure
- Build and manage the parameterization system, including schema definition and validation
- Create robotics logging, plotting, and debugging tools to enhance team productivity
- Collaborate closely with the simulation team to support SIL/HIL development workflows
- Define reliability standards for onboard software, including watchdogs and failover mechanisms
