Job description

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. is seeking an experienced engineer to join their team focused on refining and advancing the RISC-V ISA and ecosystem. The role requires a blend of hardware and software skills, emphasizing adaptability across various technologies. The engineer will contribute to technical standards and engage with the open-source community. Strong communication skills and experience with programming languages are essential for success in this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Applications Engineering or related work experience, or a Master's degree with 1+ year of experience, or a PhD.
  • 1+ year of experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python.
  • 1+ year of experience with debugging techniques.
  • 5+ years of software development experience using assembly languages, C/C++, and Python.
  • Experience with CPU and instruction set architectures.
  • Experience with open-source development methodologies including Git and GitHub.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to technical standards through interpretation, review, and collaboration.
  • Write complete, concise, and accurate technical documentation for RISC-V.
  • Develop tests and tools in assembly, C/C++, Python, Ruby, and Linux shell.
  • Design and develop toolchain components including interpreters, compilers, and simulators.
  • Participate in and contribute to the open-source community and RISC-V International.
