Job description
Qualcomm is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to join the Windows Power team, focusing on optimizing battery life and performance for premium tier compute devices. The role involves working on cutting-edge power management solutions for Snapdragon processors, addressing complex challenges in power and thermal sustainability. Candidates will collaborate with hardware and software teams to develop innovative software features and algorithms. This position requires a strong understanding of Windows OS and ARM-based System-on-Chip architecture.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of Windows OS and its internals.
- Experience with programming languages such as C, C++, and Python.
- Familiarity with Windows device drivers and ARM Assembly Language.
Responsibilities
- Lead Snapdragon Premium Tier Chipset and perform deep OS level optimization on the latest Windows OS.
- Develop software features to enhance power and performance.
- Collaborate with hardware and software technology teams to identify and commercialize new hardware/software features.
- Implement algorithmic improvements to Windows kernel resource management schemes.
- Develop simulation models for rapid prototyping of software features.
- Extend device analytics tools and platforms to understand real-world usage of Snapdragon hardware/platforms.
