Job description

Qualcomm's Systems Software Power team is looking for a Power Systems Software Engineer to tackle complex power challenges and enhance power efficiency for next-generation Snapdragon platforms. The role involves influencing the full lifecycle of mobile SoC power consumption, including hardware and software power architecture, modeling, and post-silicon analysis. The engineer will work collaboratively across various teams to develop innovative power solutions. This position requires a strong foundation in computer architecture and embedded software development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Strong foundation in computer architecture and system design.
  • Proven embedded software development expertise with hands-on experience in firmware and Linux kernel development.
  • Solid understanding of electrical engineering and digital logic fundamentals.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Drive end-to-end power optimization by collaborating with architecture, hardware, firmware, kernel, Android, and system software teams.
  • Define, prototype, and evaluate new power features using pre-silicon platforms and carry them through post-silicon validation.
  • Own post-silicon power KPI execution, including root-cause debug and systematic optimization across hardware and software boundaries.
  • Perform software trade-off analysis to assess alternative design choices under real workloads.
  • Identify and deliver power optimization opportunities by tuning or developing firmware, Linux kernel, and system algorithms.
  • Contribute to and scale power debug, analysis, and automation infrastructure to improve execution velocity and quality.

Benefits

  • Qualcomm offers competitive compensation, annual bonuses, stock programs, comprehensive healthcare coverage, retirement plans, wellness programs, parental leave, flexible work options, and professional development opportunities.
