Job description
Qualcomm's Systems Software Power team is looking for a Power Systems Software Engineer to tackle complex power challenges and enhance power efficiency for next-generation Snapdragon platforms. The role involves influencing the full lifecycle of mobile SoC power consumption, including hardware and software power architecture, modeling, and post-silicon analysis. The engineer will work collaboratively across various teams to develop innovative power solutions. This position requires a strong foundation in computer architecture and embedded software development.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong foundation in computer architecture and system design.
- Proven embedded software development expertise with hands-on experience in firmware and Linux kernel development.
- Solid understanding of electrical engineering and digital logic fundamentals.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Responsibilities
- Drive end-to-end power optimization by collaborating with architecture, hardware, firmware, kernel, Android, and system software teams.
- Define, prototype, and evaluate new power features using pre-silicon platforms and carry them through post-silicon validation.
- Own post-silicon power KPI execution, including root-cause debug and systematic optimization across hardware and software boundaries.
- Perform software trade-off analysis to assess alternative design choices under real workloads.
- Identify and deliver power optimization opportunities by tuning or developing firmware, Linux kernel, and system algorithms.
- Contribute to and scale power debug, analysis, and automation infrastructure to improve execution velocity and quality.
