As a Software Engineer at Qualcomm, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of production systems, focusing on machine learning engineering. You will work on a modern cloud service for preparing and testing ML models, utilizing AWS, Kubernetes, and a Python-based backend with a React/TypeScript frontend. The role involves collaborating closely with the Cloud Services team, participating in design reviews, and managing your own priorities in a fast-paced environment. You will receive guidance from senior engineers while applying established engineering best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 6+ years of relevant work experience, or a Master's degree with 5+ years, or a PhD with 4+ years.
- Working knowledge of object-oriented programming and design concepts.
- Proficiency in TypeScript, with experience using React and modern frontend tooling.
- Backend development experience using Python.
- Basic experience or exposure to CI/CD pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain web applications and backend services under guidance from senior team members.
- Implement features and enhancements on existing systems using React/TypeScript frontends and Python backend services.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following established standards.
- Build and consume RESTful APIs.
- Collaborate effectively with teammates and cross-functional partners.
- Participate in UX and design reviews.
- Document design decisions, code changes, and operational considerations.
