Job description
Arcadis is seeking a Structural Engineer to join their Water Management/Hydraulic Structural Team in Little Rock, AR, Baton Rouge, LA, or Metairie, LA. The role focuses on delivering engineering and consulting services for projects related to flood risk reduction, waterfront infrastructure resilience, and dam safety. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural engineering, particularly in infrastructure projects related to water management and seismic resilience. This position involves collaboration with various engineering disciplines and requires effective communication skills.
Requirements
- 6 or more years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration.
- Experience designing flood walls, flood gates, retaining wall structures, and deep foundations is preferred.
- Proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as STAAD, MathCAD, AutoCAD, and Revit is beneficial.
Responsibilities
- Conduct structural analysis, design, and engineering during construction services for climate adaptation projects.
- Research feasibility of alternative design approaches, site conditions, and regulatory agency specifications.
- Develop calculations, plans, specifications, requests for proposals, and other contract documents.
- Coordinate with clients, engineering disciplines, and project staff throughout the project life cycle.
- Mentor entry-level and junior structural engineering staff.
