The role involves working as part of the IMD Product Controllers Insurance Accounting Team, focusing on financial control and reporting obligations for a global financial institution. The candidate will interact with various teams including Client Services and Operations, ensuring compliance with accounting policies and regulations. The position emphasizes coordination with Clearwater Analytics and managing day-to-day operational activities. The candidate will also support client inquiries and drive initiatives to enhance the accounting and reporting platform.
Requirements
- A minimum of two years in statutory insurance investment/securities accounting experience is required.
- Experience with statutory investment accounting systems is essential.
- Knowledge of general investment accounting requirements and associated regulatory filings is necessary.
- Basic knowledge of multi-basis investment related accounting requirements including STAT, GAAP, IFRS is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of insurance industry investment accounting/processing systems is required.
- Comprehensive analytical skills and strong time management skills are essential.
- Advanced knowledge of spreadsheet applications is necessary.
- Sound written and oral communication skills are required.
- Ability to interact directly with third-party clients is essential.
- A Bachelor's degree in accounting is required.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate detailed implementation planning and support for Clearwater Analytics investment accounting system.
- Acquire and document an understanding of client-related accounting policies.
- Oversee application and compliance of accounting policies across GSAM business units.
- Direct day-to-day operational activities with accounting vendor and GSAM federation staff.
- Document and ensure adherence to policies surrounding the insurance accounting platform.
- Analyze, review, and reconcile book of record investment accounting results.
- Ensure timely submission of client deliverables as contractually required.
- Support Client Services Division in responding to client accounting inquiries.
- Work closely with GSAM Operations and Technology teams to establish workflow protocols.
- Drive initiatives to enhance the GSAM accounting and reporting outsourcing platform.
