Job description

The Network Engineer position at Jacobs involves supporting government customers' global enterprise networks. The role requires expertise in LAN/WAN device installation and maintenance, as well as troubleshooting and incident resolution. The engineer will work closely with Tier III network engineers and participate in various network management tasks. This position is crucial for ensuring operational advancement and mission-critical outcomes in the National Security & Defense market.

Requirements

  • Must have a TS/SCI CI clearance.
  • Candidate must have 8 years of experience, which can be a combination of work history and education.
  • Compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) 8140 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2 is required.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time is necessary.
  • Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Support the installation and maintenance of client LAN/WAN devices.
  • Respond to and resolve incidents while demonstrating troubleshooting skills.
  • Complete assigned tasks within Service Level Objectives/Agreements (SLOs/SLAs).
  • Draft and implement standard network change requests.
  • Provide support to Tier III network engineers for incident management and projects.
  • Perform configuration management functions such as updating topology drawings and ensuring accurate asset management records.
  • Coordinate network operations, maintenance, repairs, or upgrades.
