The Principal Software Engineer role in the DPU Integrations and Operational Excellence team at Microsoft involves designing, building, testing, and deploying automation tools for DPU's custom-built silicon. The team focuses on enhancing Azure's compute and networking capabilities through innovative software and hardware solutions. This position requires a deep understanding of DPU architecture and customer workflows, as well as the ability to manage field incidents and collaborate cross-functionally. The role emphasizes technical leadership and the development of quality plans for DPU-based compute products.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
- 6+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and deploy innovative integration and diagnostics tools and AI agents.
- Provide technical leadership to teams to identify the scope of testing and create a quality plan for DPU-based compute products.
- Lead the team by providing technical expertise and oversight, monitoring test plan execution and quality.
- Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guide other engineers in monitoring system/product/service for degradation.
- Alert stakeholders about status and initiate actions to restore system/product/service for issues.
- Guide and help debug field issues while collaborating cross-functionally.
- Maintain dashboards of live/dormant cases and KPIs.
- Feedback learnings from field issues back into the engineering development/test process.
