Job description

The role is for Software Engineer II and Senior Software Engineers within the Microsoft Defender for Endpoint team, focused on protecting users and enterprises from cyber-attacks. The team is dedicated to building innovative protection, detection, and response technologies to stay ahead of threats. Employees will collaborate with Microsoft Research and other engineering groups to advance security capabilities. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience designing, developing, or maintaining secure software systems.
  • 1+ year of experience with software performance analysis and optimization of native code (C/C++).
  • 1+ year of experience with using AI models and agentic flows.
