Job description
The Software Engineer II position at Microsoft focuses on developing reliable, scalable, and secure distributed cloud services within the Microsoft Entra ID team. This team plays a crucial role in Microsoft's cloud strategy, handling authentication and authorization for millions of users. Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, or Python OR equivalent experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
- Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of experience designing, developing, or maintaining secure software systems.
- 2+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in programming languages including C, C++, C#, Java, Rust, or Go.
- 2+ years of experience designing, building, and operating scalable, highly available cloud services or distributed systems.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop large-scale distributed software services and/or clients.
- Partner across engineering, product, and design to build customer-facing experiences that simplify complex workflows.
- Develop best-in-class engineering by ensuring services and components are well-defined, modular, secure, reliable, and reusable.
- Ensure testability, portability, reliability, and maintainability of code.
- Participate in on-call rotations, incident response, and root cause analysis.
- Troubleshoot and optimize automation, reliability, and monitoring for LiveSite.
- Evangelize the usage of AI to increase productivity and quality on the team.
