Job description
The Networking Software Architect role at NVIDIA focuses on developing next-generation networking protocols for AI systems. The team is dedicated to creating RDMA Transport protocols that enhance distributed AI training and inference. Candidates will work on innovative technologies that improve communication efficiency between GPUs, impacting overall AI application performance. This position offers an opportunity to advance the state-of-the-art in networking infrastructure.
Requirements
- M.S./Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 12+ years of relevant experience.
- Excellent C/C++ programming and debugging skills.
- Research experience driving transport protocol innovations.
- Deep understanding of RDMA.
- Proven fundamentals of compute, network architecture, and operating systems.
- Strong experience with Linux.
- Ability and flexibility to work and communicate effectively in a multi-national, multi-time-zone corporate environment.
Responsibilities
- Research and propose novel transport mechanisms based on RDMA technology for AI systems using simulations, experiments, and proof-of-concept prototypes.
- Architect the frameworks for NVIDIA’s programmable networking devices for novel protocols.
- Provide system-level architecture to guide NVIDIA’s customers to deploy and operate the new protocols.
- Collaborate across NVIDIA to co-design the stack to exploit new transport mechanisms.
